Like every year, we will come together this month to pray for the overcoming of violence arising from homo-, trans- and biphobia.
The prayer vigils that will take place in Europe and South America will be an opportunity for our Christian communities to speak to those who take up the shield of faith to deny all means of legal protection and welcoming for LGBT+ persons and their families, who already endure daily episodes of violence.
For this purpose, as Christians of good will, LGBT + and non, as parents and pastoral workers, we want to give our personal testimony as to why this year we will once again come together to pray with the words of John “Love one another, as I have loved you“.
This can be a powerful way to say no more to this unjust violence provoked by prejudices that still find fertile ground in our society and, regrettably, even in our Christian communities.
