Since 2007, Christian communities and LGBT Christians around the world have come together on the 17th May to remember the victims of homophobia, biphobia and transphobia, to overcome discrimination so that our society and our Christian communities can become “sanctuaries of welcome and support for LGBT people and for every person affected by discrimination“.
“We pray that no one is ever left behind, for those who have fallen for living in their truth, for those who ask for rights for those who want to live as their true selves and for those who want justice and a place in the world. We pray for the victims of homophobia, transphobia and biphobia as well as for the end of such discrimination. Come and pray with us“.
The message has been relaunched this year with a video created by the Italian artist and graphic designer Alessandro Previti and with original music by Sawa Namira Previti.
The video is a project conceived and financed by the Christian association La Tenda di Gionata (Italy) and supported by the Faith, Gender and Sexuality Commission of the Baptist, Methodist and Waldensian churches (Italy), the Global Network of Rainbow Catholics, the European Forum of LGBT Christian Group, Gay Christian Africa and the English ecumenical association OneBodyOneFaith.
